Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva may have put his chances of joining Galatasaray in jeopardy according to reports in Turkey.

Per the source, Lucas currently makes £3 million per-season at Galatasaray.

Lucas will be out of contract at the end of the season and has yet to be offered an extension by Liverpool.

The Reds veteran is the longest serving player in the squad having joined 10 years ago from Gremio.

The 30-year-old will have to reduce his wage demands if he wants to land a lucrative contract with Galatasaray.

Lucas’ current wage demands are outside the Lions current budget.

Galatasaray are under the watch of Financial Fair Play and must bring their spending under control if they want to avoid being suspended from European competition as they were this season.
