Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants the on-loan Serbian international Lazar Markovic back at Anfield next season.

According to the Turkish newspaper AMK, the German manager is happy with the 21-year-old’s performances and has plans for him next term.

Markovic is currently on a season long-loan at the Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahce. An option to buy was not included in the loan agreement meaning the ball is firmly in Liverpool’s court regarding Markovic’s future.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a first team regular under the stewardship of Fenerbahce manager Vitor Pereira and has also passed his goal and assist tally of last season scoring twice and setting up three goals despite a lengthy injury.

The Serbian international has featured in Fenerbahce’s last seven league games and started in the last five – all of which have ended in victories for the leaders.

The Yellow Canaries are currently first in the league and competing in both the Turkish Cup and Europa League.
