Liverpool boss Klopp tips Emre Can to make return

Emre Can

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has tipped Emre Can to make a return from his injury in-time for the the Europa League clash with Villareal.

The 22-year-old suffered a ankle injury during the Red’s memorable 4-3 victory over Borussia Dortmund on Thursday.

“There are four or five weeks of the season left. There is hope for Emre but we will see. I don’t want to give a time. If he is not available we have to find a different solution,” Klopp stated at the post-match press conferance following Liverpool’s win over Bournemouth.

“He has a chance but how big we will see. It would be better if Can and Henderson were involved.

“But I don’t think about Villarreal at this moment. We have three games before then. It is a long way to go. It is not about dreaming of the final or being in the Champions League.”

Jurgen Klopp will now be unable to call upon two key midfielders following the latest injury to captain Jordan Henderson who is out with damaged knee ligaments.

Liverpool will take on Villarreal next in the Europa League semi-finals but if they do progress to the final Can may just recover in time as it will be played on 18 May.
