Liverpool captain returns to training ahead of Turkey clash

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has returned to training ahead of England’s international game against Turkey set to be played on Sunday 22 May at the Etihad stadium.

Henderson missed the last few games of the season for Liverpool with a hamstring injury but has recovered and returned to training.

The Liverpool midfielder is not expected to start against Turkey due to lacking match fitness but could make the match day squad.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill also recovered from his injury which forced him to miss training yesterday.

Cahill trained with the team today and remains an option for England boss Roy Hodgson.

Turkey meanwhile will be without Barcelona star Arda Turan who is set to feature in the Spanish Cup final against Europa League champions Sevilla.

Nuri Sahin is out playing for Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup final while Burak Yilmaz is injured and Serdar Aziz is also also out.
