Liverpool draw Rubin Kazan in Europa League Group B

The UEFA Europa League group stage draw took place today at Monaco at 12:00 GMT

Liverpool were drawn from Pot 2 against Rubin Kazan, French side Bordeaux and Swiss side Sion in Group B.

Rubin Kazan finished the 2014-15 Russian league season in fifth place and Turkish international Gökdeniz Karadeniz is expected to feature in the competition.

The Reds reached the Europa League Round of 32 last season but were knocked out on penalties against Beşiktaş.

The Premier League outfit were unable to face Beşiktaş in the group stages for the 2015-16 season due to being drawn from the same pot.

Emre Can will embark on his second Europa League campaign with the Reds after putting in impressive performances in the competition last season.

Liverpool will not however, be able to count on Lazar Markovic who is set to join Fenerbahçe on-loan.

The Reds are undefeated in the Premier League this season after winning two and drawing one of their last three games.
