Liverpool & Everton scouts present at Trabzonspor clash to monitor Turkish wonderkid
Premier League duo Liverpool and Everton have stepped up their interest in Trabzonspor wonder-kid Yusuf Yazici.
The 20-year-old played 89 minutes during Trabzonspor’s 2-1 victory over Konyaspor in their opening game of the Super League.
A source close to Trabzonspor has revealed to Turkish-Football, that scouts from across Europe were present at the game. These included staff from both Everton and Liverpool.
Yazici burst onto the scene last season for Trabzonspor following the injury to Mehmet Ekici. The young playmaker made an instant impact with six goals and 10 assists in 22 games.
The 20-year-old also earned himself a cap for the Turkish national team.
However, Trabzonspor chairman Muharrem Usta has stated that he has no intention of selling Yazici this summer. The Black Sea Storm want to keep hold of their star asset for their 50th anniversary year.
“I want to see Yusuf here for our 50th year anniversary squad,” Usta was quoted as saying.
“He will be sold when the time is right, Yusuf will be an ambassador for the club and reach the highest level.”
