Liverpool ended up losing their first Premier League game of the season 2-0 against newly promoted Burnley at Turf Moor.
Reds star Emre Can did not get any playing time despite being in the match day squad – presumably due to not being match fit.
Liverpool fans were not best pleased with Jurgen Klopp’s decision on social media.
The entire defeat was blamed on Can not featuring by this fan.

Can was clearly sorely missed today by the fans and would probably have given the Liverpool midfield more dynamism.
Get Emre Can back in the team ASAP, and not that Milner was bad, but I would much prefer a left footed left back to give us more balance.

The reason as to why Can did not play is unknown but it is more than likely something to do with his match fitness.
Can't see why Emre Can didn't feature besides not being 100% fit, but not heard any reports of an injury

The Reds midfield looked unbalanced at times. Can would have probably given more defensive cover.

Emre Can is badly needed in that midfield for his combatative nature, guy loves a strong challenge. #LFC

The fans didn’t even get to sing the Emre Can chant!
