Liverpool fans react to Yaya Toure challenge on Emre Can on social media
Liverpool extended their unbeaten run against teams in the current top six after holding Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad.
Germany international of Turkish origin Emre Can started for the Reds and was widely praised for his display.
Can provided the pass which resulted in the Reds second half penalty.
The 23-year-old midfielder was however, involved in another major talking point following an incident with Manchester City star Yaya Toure.
Toure flew in with a rash challenge and ended up sliding into Can kicking him, studs up in the shoulder.
The City midfielder was shown a yellow card but the refereeing decision divided opinion.

Toure did get booked but it was the inconsistency of the refereeing decisions which really seemed to upset fans

The incident on Can seemed to be forgotten in the post match analysis which infuriated Liverpool fans further.
