Fenerbahce forward Lazar Markovic’s injuries plagued season shows no sign of easing following an unsuccessful trip to Portugal.

Markovic is currently on a season-long loan at the Istanbul giants but is currently out with an injury.

According to the Turkish newspaper Fanatik, the 22-year-old traveled to Portugal for treatment but it is now unclear when he will return to first team football.

Markovic man has missed 85 days due to injuries and been forced to miss 19 games for Fenerbahce as a result.

Fenerbahce had been keen to try and extend their loan deal with Liverpool for another season but have been put off due to recurring injury problems.

The Serbia international had established himself as a first team regular until his most recent hamstring injury which has seen him ruled out for the past 50 days.

Fenerbahce are currently second in the Turkish Super League three points behind leaders Besiktas but the Canaries do have a game in hand.
