Liverpool injury news: Klopp provides update on star with ‘full body bruise’

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has provided an injury update regarding Emre Can and Joel Matip.

The pair played during the brutal Merseyside derby on Saturday and are both doubts for tonight’s clash with Bournemouth.

The Reds host Bournemouth at Anfield tonight as they look to continue their winning run.

Klopp stated that Can has bruises all over his body while Matip is receiving treatment for a back problem.

The German tactician is however hopeful the duo will be available tonight.

“Emre has kind of a full body bruise. Everywhere,” Klopp was quoted as saying by the Echo.

“We left him out on Monday because he had back pain, knee pain. Nothing serious, thank God. Really, he has knocks everywhere. I hope he will be fit.

“Joel had a little bit of a back problem or two. He saw the doc before training so we will see. He should be okay.”

“We don’t think about what we miss, we think about what we can do to win this football game,” he added.

“I can’t remember the last time all the players were available and decisions were really difficult to make. It will be a similar line up, but not exactly the same.

“We have different options. We could bring experience or young boys.”

Emre Can has become a key component in Liverpool’s midfield i recent weeks. The box-to-box midfielder played a staring role against Everton last week.

The 23-year-old has three assists and four goals in 32 apperances for Liverpool this season.

Liverpool has won three of their last four Premier League games.
