Liverpool joined by Serie A giants in race to sign €15m German playmaker

Serie A giants AC Milan have joined the race to sign in-demand Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay.

The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for the Bundesliga side so far this season and played a starring role against Liverpool in their UEFA Champions League qualification tie last month.

Hoffenheim ended up losing the clash against Liverpool but was named man of the match during their 4-2 defeat at the hands of the Reds.

According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, AC Milan have entered the race for Demirbay are keeping tabs on the midfield playmaker. Per the source Hoffenheim are prepared to sell Demirbay for €15 million.

Meanwhile, German outlet Bild recently stated that Liverpool were in contact with Demirbay’s representatives.

Demirbay registered ten assists and scored six goals in 29 appearances for Hoffenheim last season. The 24-year-old has previously played for Hamburg, Kaiserslautern and Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Liverpool suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester City last week in the League Cup and take on the Foxes again tomorrow afternoon in the Premier League.
