Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers revealed that he will be looking forward to the atmosphere at the Atatürk Olympic stadium ahead of the Europa League Round of 32 second leg game against Beşiktaş.
“We’re looking forward to the atmosphere – it should be really good. And we want to complete the job. The confidence is very high in the team,” Rodgers told the official Liverpool website.
Tickets for the Europa League Round of 32 second leg ahead Beşiktaş have already sold out.
Beşiktaş released a statement confirming that 65,334 Black Eagles fans and 4,400 Reds supporters expected to attend the return leg.
The Atatürk Olympic stadium was the setting for Liverpool’s 2005 Champions League final victory against AC Milan.
Rodgers also underlined that confidence is high in the team and that they believe they can get the job done in Istanbul.
“Any changes that we make in the team, the players come in and know the collective job and are performing at a very high level. So we expect the same, to continue with that confidence level. We’ll look to carry that confidence into the game,” he added.
Liverpool won the first leg at Anfield 1-0 thanks to a penalty from Mario Balotelli.
