Liverpool missing 2 strikers against Chelsea but Emre Can set to return

Liverpool will be without strikers Christian Beneteke and Divock Origi against Chelsea in the International Championship Cup according to Press Association journalist Carl Markham.

The Reds take on Premier League rivals Chelsea at the Rose Bowl in the early hours of the morning.

The two strikers were left at the Palo Alto base for extra training as both were involved in Belgium’s Euro 2016 campaign.

Emre Can who was involved in the German Euro 2016 campaign played in the semi-final against hosts France.

Can has returned to the Liverpool squad although there has been no confirmation regarding whether he will play against Chelsea or not.

The 22-year-old has not played for the Reds since the Euro 2016 campaign and has been in holiday in Turkey to meet his family and on the West Coast of the US partying with the likes of Mesut Ozil.

Liverpool will also be without Joel Matip, Lucas Leiva, Tiago Ilori, Joe Gomez as well as Mamadou Sakho due to injury.
