Liverpool star delays signing new contract as he considers Juventus move, Reds demand €35m

Liverpool were reported to have reached a verbal agreement with Emre Can over a new contract deal.

The Daily Mail claim that Can is set to rejoin the Reds and extend his contract.

Reports in Italy meanwhile continue to contradict claims that the 23-year-old is on the verge of renewing his deal.

Tuttosport are reporting that the reason Can has not signed a new deal yet is that he is ‘heavily tempted’ by Juventus’ project.

Per the source, the Reds want €35 million for the midfielder of Turkish origin.

Juve meanwhile insist on a lower transfer fee. Apparently Can is waiting to see if club officials Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici reach an agreement with Liverpool.

The report described Can as being the new Sami Khedira.

Can meanwhile has not hinted that he is unhappy at Liverpool and is expected to return to pre-season training once his break is over.

The Juve links are likely to bubble under the surface for as long as a new deal is not officially signed.

The powerful midfielder is currently on holiday in Bodrum, Turkey after being given extended leave.

The Reds star was part of the Germany side that won the Confederations Cup this summer.
