Liverpool take on Sion at Anfield in Group B of the Europa League but head coach Brendan Rodgers will have one eye on the Premier League clash against Everton on the weekend.
Rodgers is likely to rest a few first-team regulars ahead of the Merseyside derby. Daniel Sturridge, Mahamadou Sakho, Philippe Coutinho, Lucas Leiva and James Milner are expected to miss the tie.
The Reds boss will also be without captain Jordan Henderson, Christian Benteke, Roberto Firmino as well as Dejan Lovren due to injury.
Rodgers is however, expected to deploy Emre Can who could start in his preferred midfield role after featuring in defence in the 3-2 win over Aston Villa.
The last time these two sides met was back in the 1996 UEFA Cup Winners Cup with Liverpool winning 8-4 on aggregate over the two legs.
