Liverpool star Emre Can features in Germany win

Emre Can came on for the second half for Germany’s 2-0 victory over Hungary earlier tonight.

The 22-year-old came on in lace of Hector and was deployed at left back by manager Joachim Löw.

Can has played as a central-midfielder under the stewardship of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp but Germany manager Joaquim Low continues to play him as a defender – as did former Liverpool head coach Brendan Rodgers.

Besiktas star Mario Gomez also came on for  Germany in the second half by failed to find the back of the net.

An Adam Lang own goal gave the home side the lead in the 39th minute while Thomas Muller doubled his sides lead midway through the second half.

Can is one of two Germany international players of Turkish origin in the squad with the other being Mesut Ozil. Germany take on Ukraine in their first game of Euro 2016 on June 12.
