Liverpool star Emre Can hails victory over Manchester United

Emre can has stated that he is extremely happy with Liverpool’s win over their rival’ Manchester United in the Europa League last week.

The fixture was the first time the two sides have met in European competition with the Red’s recording a 2-0 victory at Anfield.

“Everyone was very happy with the draw to play United, we just wanted to play like recent games which we played very well,” Can told the official Liverpool website.

“We did a good job and we have to keep going like that next week.

“It was a very big game for the Liverpool family. It was a great game, a great night, a great result.”

The 22-year-old put on an impressive performance making four successful tackles and one interception.

The former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder helped his side keep possession with a passing accuracy of 85% after making 68 passes. Can also contributed on the attacking front with two successful dribbles and one key pass.

Liverpool travel to Old Trafford this weekend for the return leg where a draw or 1-0 defeat will still see them qualify to the quarter finals.
