Liverpool star Emre Can: 'I have matured'

Emre Can has stated that he has matured in the last six years of his career.

The 21-year-old also stated that he has achieved all his goals so far and is excited ahead of his first international cap with Germany this week.

“I have become much more mature. I have experienced a lot as a footballer and also as a person,” Can told dfb.de.

“When I look at how I’ve developed in the last six years it’s fantastic! I have achieved almost everything that I could have hoped to.

“I have played in the Bundesliga and now play in the Premier League, I have gone through all the youth national teams, and now here I am in the actual Germany squad. It’s madness really.”

Cans been called up for Germany’s Euro 2016 qualification clash against Poland and Scotland.

Germany are second in group D with 13 points in six games. Emre Can’s side have won their last three group games.

Can featured in Germany u21’s European Championship campaign in the Czech Republic earlier this summer. Can scored a goal in his sides opening game and provided an assist in the second group game.

The former Bayern Munich man has spent this season in midfield after being played in defence and at right back by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers last season.

Can came off at half time during the Red’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of West Ham United last weekend.
