Liverpool star Emre Can will start at right-back on his Germany debut

Liverpool team news

Liverpool midfielder-come-defender will start at right-back on his Germany international debut against Poland in Frankfurt today.

Can featured as a defender in Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers back-three for most of last season but was tested at right-back towards the end of the league campaign.

The 21-year-old made some of his worst performances of the season playing at right-back culminating with a disastrous game against Stoke City which the Reds lost 6-1 and Can ended up getting subbed off at half-time.

Can will be hoping for a better showing against Poland as Germany must win in Frankfurt to move into first place in Euro 2016 qualification group D.

The Liverpool youngster has featured as a midfielder this season for his club but Germany boss Joachim Low has decided to deploy him as a full-back.
