Liverpool star, Gareth Bale & others miss out on Champions League Goal of the Group stage

Besiktas star Cenk Tosun has won the Champions League Goal of the Group Stage for the second successive season.

Tosun beat the likes of Gareth Bale, Liverpool star Sadio Mane and Antoine Griezmann among others to win the award.

The Turkish international’s goal from 25 metres in the 3-1 away win over Porto won the prize.

The decision was announced on the official UEFA website. The Turkish international won with 44 percent of the vote.

Tosun has a direct role in six Champions League goals this season, scoring four and providing two assists.

The reigning Super Lig champions became the first Turkish side to book a place in the Last 16 as group leaders.

Besiktas topped Group G with a game to spare beating Porto, Monaco and Red Bull Leipzig on the road.

The Eagles also recorded the highest points tally for a Super Lig club in the group stage (14), won the highest number of games (4) and scored 11 goals.

Besiktas take on Bayern Munich next in the Last 16.
