The 20-year-old was born in Germany but his family originate from the Trabzon region, on the Black Sea coast of Turkey.

Yeşil also revealed that his favourite music is Turkish and that his idol growing up was Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The young striker also took a swipe at Trabzonspor rivals Beşiktaş when he said his favourite game ever was, “Liverpool v Besiktas when Liverpool won 8-0.”

Liverpool’s 8-0 win over Beşiktaş at Anfield in the 2007-08 Champions League group stages was a competition record score.

Yeşil has returned to training after recovering from a double cruciate ligament injury and is expected to make his return for the U21 side against Fulham U21 on Tuesday 7 April.

The 20-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament for the second time in a year in January 2014 and has only made 5 appearances for the U21 side this season.
