Liverpool target Jurgun Klopp travels to Istanbul to hold talks with Fenerbahce

Borussia Dortmund manager Jürgen Klopp held talks with Fenerbahce last night according to the Turkish daily newspaper Sabah.

The report states that the Istanbul Giants established contact with Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke following Dortmund’s defeat to Wolfsburg. Klopp was flown to Istanbul on a private jet and met with Fenerbahce officials at the Yellow Canaries Topuk Yaylası facility.

Klopp who has already confirmed that he will be leaving Dortmund at the end of the season, has been linked with the Liverpool and Manchester City jobs in recent weeks.

The 47-year-old manager lead Dortmund to two league titles and was runner-up in the UEFA Champions League in the 2012-13 season.

Dortmund have endured a turbulent season and find themselves in seventh place – 33 points behind champions Bayern Munich.

Fenerbahce are currently involved in a race for the Turkish League title. The Yellow Canaries sit in second place, three points behind leaders Galatasaray with two games to go.
