Liverpool team news: Jurgen Klopp facing injury issues in midfield

Liverpool take on their neighbours Manchester City this weekend as they look to extend their winning run.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have the opportunity to record their fifth consecutive victory in the Premier League.

Fortunately for the Reds, Klopp has an excellent record over City boss Pep Guardiola.

The German tactician has recorded six wins over Guardiola in all competitions, most of which came during his spell at Borussia Dortmund.

Klopp will be without club captain and star midfielder Jordan Henderson who is nursing a foot injury. Former Man City striker Daniel Sturridge is also a major doubt for this weekend’s clash due to a hip issue.

Emre Can – who was the star of the show against Burnley last weekend – is expected to retain his place in Liverpool’s midfield.

City will need to recoup following their UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of Monaco on Wednesday. Guardiola will be unable to call upon both Ilkay Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus who have been ruled out with injuries.
