Liverpool team news: Klopp facing major selection worries ahead of Man United clash – Star midfielder could return to starting XI

Liverpool host Manchester United at Anfield in the weekend’s blockbuster Premier League fixture. The clash takes place on Saturday while kick-off is scheduled for 12:30.

Liverpool will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways after being held to 1-1 draw by Newcastle United in their last league fixture before the international break.

Man United meanwhile come into the high-profile encounter in high spirits following their comfortable 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Liverpool team news:

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp suffered a crushing blow earlier this week. Star winger Sadio Mane suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty with Senegal.

Meanwhile, both Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino will be making a 6,000-mile journey back to England from Brazil.

The German tactician will be unable to call upon Adam Lallana who is continuing his rehabilitation following a thigh injury. Nathaniel Clyne will also miss the game due to a back problem.

Emre Can could return to Liverpool’s starting XI. The Germany international was dropped to the bench against Newcastle United. Can scored his first international goal for Germany earlier this week.
