Liverpool team news: Jurgen Klopp facing major problems in defence ahead of Spartak clash

Liverpool take on Spartak Moscow in their final Group E game in the UEFA Champions League.

The Reds can secure a first-place finish with a win against the Russian champions tonight.

However, a defeat could eliminate the Reds from the Champions League and leave them in the Europa League.

The clash takes place at Anfield, on Wednesday night while kick-off is scheduled for 19:45 (GMT).

Liverpool Team News:

Cameroon international Joel Matip is a major doubt ahead of the Spartak clash after pickingĀ up a knock against Stoke last week.

Fellow defenders Joe Gomez and Ragnar Klavan are both minor doubts after recovering from an illness.

Meanwhile, Loris Karius is set to return in-goal. Jurgen Klopp has preferred the German keeper to Simon Mignolet for European games this season.

Sadio Mane is expected to return to Klopp’s starting eleven after being rested against Brighton over the weekend.

Emre Can is expected to retain his place in the team following his impressive performance in defence.
