Liverpool host Chelsea in the first leg of the Carlin Cup semi final clash against Chelsea. The Reds have lost only one of their last 14 games in all competitions, while their opponents lead the Premier League table.

Emre Can is expected to be included in tonights starting line up. Can has played the last six games as a defender in Rogers back three despite being a central midfielder.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to stick with a 3-4-3 setup with Can playing in defence.

The former Bayer midfielder was first deployed as a defender in the second half during Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Burnley in the Premier League.

Can has made 15 appearances for the Reds this season.
