Emre Can is set to make his ninth consecutive Liverpool start when the Reds take on West Ham at Anfield.

Can put on a solid defensive display against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup semi-final against one of world footballs most highly rated wingers – Edin Hazard.

The 21-year-old could be put through his paces again against West Ham’s Stewart Downing.

Can has played the last nine games in defence despite his strongest position being in central midfield.

The former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder has made 18 appearances for the Reds in all competitions this season.

Liverpool were on a 10 match unbeaten run prior to the 1-0 loss against Chelsea in the cup.

The last time these two sides met West Ham crushed the Reds 3-1 at Upton Park.

However, the Reds have a great home record against the Hammers. Liverpool have only lost three times against West Ham at Anfield.
