Liverpool winger’s agent travels to Turkey for talks over January transfer

Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic was linked with a summer move over the transfer window but ended up staying at Anfield.

The Serbia international has however, failed to make a single appearance for the first team this season.

Markovic could be on his way out in January according to reports in Turkey.

Fanatik claim that Markovic’s agent has travelled to Turkey for talks with Fenerbahce over a six-month loan until the end of the season.

Per the source, the Yellow Canaries are keen on the move as is Markovic.

The 23-year-old is no stranger to Fenerbahce having previously enjoyed a loan stint at the club.

The Istanbul giants are expected to enter direct talks with Liverpool over a loan move.

A temporary move could include a buyout clause option.

Markovic still has another two-years remaining on his contract but does not appear to be in Reds boss Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

The Serbia international made the move to Liverpool for a lofty £20 million from Benfica back in 2014. However, the 23-year-old has failed to live up to expectations.

Markovic has spent the last three seasons out on loan at Fenerbahce, Sporting Lisbon and Hull City.
