Liverpool's £29 million striker needs time to adapt to Premier League says Emre Can

Emre Can has stated that Liverpool’s latest signing Roberto Firmino needs time in order to adapt to the Premier League.

Thee Germany international spoke about the adaptation period he underwent when he joined from Bayer Leverkusen last season.

“You need to learn about that and the referees too. Sometimes they don’t whistle when you expect it. Instead they let the game flow. You might think it’s a foul but everything continues.” Can was quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.

“Personally, I like that. It’s much better than a stop-start game. But players who are new to England need time to adapt to it.”

Firmino joined the Reds from Hoffenheim over the summer in a £29million deal has had a slow start to his Liverpool career.

The 24-year-old is yet to score for Liverpool since joining in the summer and has only one assist to his name.

Emre Can received a rating of 6.89 from Whoscored for his performance during Liverpool’s win over Chelsea.

The 21-year-old made two tackles, two interceptions and one clearance. Can also made two key passes and maintained a passing accuracy of 84%.
