Loan paying off for Chelsea defender

On-loan Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has revealed that he is enjoying life in Turkey playing for Super Lig side Kasimpasa.

Omeruo has had a few injuries but he has since made a full recovery and established himself as a first-team regular.

“It’s been going really well. I am playing a lot of games. I have had a few injuries but nothing serious, just keeping me out for one or two weeks at a time. Generally I have been playing every game except when I have been injured or suspended,” Omeruo told the official Chelsea website.

The Nigerian international defender underlined that the club aims to book a place in Europe next season and highlighted his sides defensive record this season.

“We have one of the best defensive records in the league at this moment so I can’t really ask for more than that. We are fifth right now and we are pushing to finish in a Europa League position which is fourth spot,” he added.

The 21-year-old has been in splendid form for the Istanbul minnows helping his side keep one of the best defensive records in the league.

Kasimpasa are currently 5th just two points behind Istanbul rivals Basaksehir in fourth and 10 points off 3rd placed Konyaspor.

The Istanbul based side have a release clause option to sign Omeruo but Chelsea may be reluctant to sell considering the kind of form he has been in this season.
