Russian giants Lokomotiv Moscow join race for Hull City target Emenike who has 7 goals this season

Lokomotiv Moscow have joined the race for Hull City target Emmanuel Emenike a source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football.com.

The Fenerbahce striker has been informed by his club that he is free to leave over the winter transfer window.

Emenike has had no shortage of suitors with Hull City, Rubin Kazan and now Lokomotiv all expressing an interest.

Hull wanted Emenike on loan however, Fenerbahce only want to sell the 29-year-old on a permanent deal.

The Istanbul giants will only consider a loan move if they fail to find a suitor before the end of the transfer window.

The Nigerian international striker has experience playing in both the Premier League and the Russian top tier.

Emenike joined West Ham on loan last season but struggled to find a regular first team place under the stewardship of Slaven Bilic.

The powerful striker previously played for Spartak Moscow between 2011-13 where he scored 24 times in 54 games for the Russian giants.

Emenike has netted seven times in all competitions for Fenerbahce this season but despite his decent scoring record he has struggled to establish himself as a first team regular under  head coach Dick Advocaat.

Hull City have struggled for goals this season finding the back just 20 times, only Middlesbrough have scored fewer goals (18).

The Tigers are in the market for a new striker to boost their goal scoring form and drag them out of the relegation zone.

Emenike has one-and-a-half seasons left on his current contract and Fenerbahce are willing to accept a cut price deal to free up the wage bill.

Fenerbahce are currently fourth in the Turkish Super Lig just six points behind league leaders Besiktas.

Emenike did not feature in the 1-0 victory over second placed Basaksehir over the weekend.
