“Loved seeing you smile today” – Arsenal star sends heartfelt message to special friend
Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to send a message to his friend Charlie.
Ozil has been in frequent contact with the young Arsenal fan who is, unfortunately, suffering from cancer. The Germany international recently invited Charlie to an Arsenal game at the Emirates and also met the young fan on Saturday after the Newcastle game.
Charlie sent Ozil gifts for the Germany international’s dog named Balboa.
Ozil shared the photo of himself alongside Charlie along with the gifts on his social media page and included the following caption.
“Friends bringing presents are the best type of friends. Some treats for Bally and a great memory for me from my friend, little Charlie. Loved seeing you smile today.”

Ozil frequently works with charities and previously was a Laureus ambassador. The former Real Madrid man has also worked with numerous charitable projects including helping Brazilian kids living in poverty after the 2014 World Cup.
