Luis Enrique does not want Arda Turan to leave Barcelona on loan

Man United transfer news

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique does not want Arda Turan to leave the club on a six-month loan the bearded winger revealed in an interview with NTV Spor.

Turan joined Barcelona on a £24 million transfer from Atletico Madrid but will be unable to play until at least January.

Barcelona are currently serving a transfer ban which restricts the club from registering new signings until the new year.

The Turkish international will not be allowed to play a professional game for Barcelona until the transfer ban is served and that led to speculation that he could be leaving on loan.

In fact Barcelona president Jose Bartomeu recently stated that Turan could leave on a temporary move if Enrique wanted.

“This is a possibility but the final decision must be made by coach Luis Enrique and it must be a purely technical decision,” Bartomeu told RAC 1.

“It must be a team not playing in the Champions League.”

Turan however, stated that Enrique wants him to remain at the club and adapt to the teams system over the next few months.

“Luis Enrique wants me to stay at the club,” Turan said.

The 28-year-old winger has been closely linked with a move to Galatasaray. The the Express meanwhile have linked Liverpool and Tottenham as being interested in a temporary move for the former Atletico Madrid star man.
