Man City & Man United suffer transfer blow as Italian giants close in on €13m deal for Turkish international star

Basaksehir star Cengiz Under has made no secret that he wants a Premier League move.

“The league I really want to play in is the Premier League and I would also love La Liga,” Under told beIN Turkey.

“I want to play for Manchester United or Chelsea, also Barcelona or Real Madrid.”

A source close to Under revealed to Turkish-Football that Manchester United scouted him over the 2016-17 season.

The same source also confirmed that Manchester City made an €8 million offer last Thursday after lengthy talks with Basaksehir in Istanbul.

Last seasons Super Lig runners-up demanded at least €12 million for the 19-year-old.

The Istanbul based outfit did not reach a deal with City but talks carried on and a second round of negotiations was expected.

The Premier League giants could however, end up losing the race for Under to Roma.

Sky Sport Italia report that Roma are very close to an agreement with Under.

The Serie A outfit are reported to be close to clinching a €13 million deal on a five-year contract worth €1.5 million per-season.

The rising star is being tipped as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah who joined Liverpool earlier in the window.

Under is represented by the same agents as Salih Ucan who enjoyed an unsuccessful stint at Roma a few years back.

The Basaksehir ace is already a Turkish international star despite being aged just 19.

Under has netted twice in two starts for Turkey and scored nine goals, providing a further seven assists for the Turkish Cup finalists.
