Man City send club officials to hijack Man United move for wonder kid nicknamed ‘Turkish Dybala’, talks in Istanbul underway

Manchester City have sent club officials to Istanbul for talks with Basaksehir over Cengiz Under.

A source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football that City have been closely monitoring the 19-year-old’s progress.

The Istanbul based outfit want €10 million for their star man.

Basaksehir president Goksel Gumusdag did recently confirm that four offers have been made for the rising star.

“Yes it is true, there is a lot of interest, Cengiz has received offers from four European clubs,” Gumusdag said.

Manchester United have also been keeping tabs on the 19-year-old as confirmed by Basaksehir head coach Abdullah Avci.

Avci told TRT Spor: “Yes, it’s true there is some interest for Cengiz. It’s normal that the clubs like Tottenham and United are showing interest for him because the kid is a good footballer.”

The Red Devils sent Eastern European scout to watch Under in person against Genclerbirligi back in May.

City were recently involved in a similar move snapping up Enes Unal when he was aged 18 from Bursaspor.

The Citizens signed Unal for £2 million before selling him to Villarreal for £12 million two-seasons later.

The Citizens do have a buyback option for the 20-year-old forward.

Unal went onto score 19 goals on loan for FC Twente last season and establish himself as a Turkish international star player.
