Man City team news: Pep Guardiola without star striker, Gundogan could return to starting XI

Manchester City take on Championship side Bristol City in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup tonight.

The encounter will take place at the  Ashton Gate Stadium while kick-off is scheduled for 19:45 (GMT).

Pep Guardiola’s side come into tonight’s game having lost just one game domestically this season. The Citizens defeated Newcastle United by a 3-1 scoreline over the weekend.

Man City also come into tonight’s clash with an advantage following their 2-1 win over Bristol in the first leg.

Meanwhile, Bristol City were held to a 0-0 draw by Derby City over the weekend.

Man City team news:

Pep Guardiola will be unable to call upon Fabian Delph and Phil Foden due to injuries. Star striker Gabriel Jesus is also ruled out with a knee injury.

Germany international Ilkay Gundogan is in-line to return to Guardiola’s starting eleven after being rested over the weekend. Experienced midfielder Yaya Toure is also expected to make an appearance tonight.
