Man United defender’s proposed move to Euro Giants vetoed by club chiefs

Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian’s proposed move to Turkish Super League giants Besiktas has been vetoed.

The Italy international was linked with a move to the Black Eagles last week by the Turkish press. However, a report by Fotospor today states that Besiktas officials have rejected the Man United defender.

Per the source, Darmian has been offered to Besiktas by the player’s agent. However, the club officials rejected the chance to sign Darmian as the 28-year-old is cup-tied for the UEFA Champions League.

Besiktas are keen to bolster their squad over the January transfer window and are on the lookout for a new right-back.

Darmian has been linked with an Old Trafford exit after losing his place in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven. The Italy international has made just nine games appearances for United in all competitions this season.

Man United take on West Brom this weekend in the Premier League as they look to continue their winning run.
