Man United given green light to snap up £6m wonder-kid who has already been involved in 12 goals this season

Manchester United have been given the green light to sign Basaksehir wonder-kid Cengiz Under.

Basaksehir vice-president Mustafa Saral revealed that while they have not received an offer from United they would not try and block Under’s path to Old Trafford.

“We have not received offers but there is interest and of course it is an honour to be on the radar of Manchester United,” Saral was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“At the end of the day we would not try to block his path to United but our priority right now is to keep him here.”

The Red Devils are prepared to make a £6 million offer to secure the services of Under according to the Daily Mirror [via Hurriyet].

Per the source, Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen and Serie A outfit Inter are also in the race to sign the Turkish international making waves in the Super Lig this season.

Under rose through the ranks of the highly acclaimed Altinordu academy before being snapped up by Basaksehir.

The Izmir based club have one of the most ambitious youth projects in Turkey and aim to build a first team based entirely of academy trained players.

The 19-year-old has hit the ground running in the Super Lig, contributing directly to 12 goals – seven goals, five assists.

The rising star has also been in impressive form for Turkey.

Under was called up to the Turkish national team and scored in his first start against Moldova.

The youngster is expected to start against Galatasaray in the Istanbul derby on Monday.
