Man United star using Galatasaray offer as bargaining chip for bumper deal in contract negotiations

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has got his season off to an impressive start to the season netting two goals and providing an assist in six appearances.

Fellaini does however, have under 12 months remaining on his contract and has yet to sign a new deal.

The Daily Mail report that the Belgium international has yet to accept a new contract offer as he is holding out for an improved deal.

Per the source, United have a policy of offering one-year rolling contracts to players over 30 but Fellaini is after a longer deal.

The report does state that clubs from Turkey and Italy are interested in Fellaini.

The 29-year-old will be free to talk directly with foreign clubs from January.

The Fanatik newspaper claim that Galatasaray have made an offer that has Fellaini considering whether he should leave United at the end of the season.

Turkish-Football broke news of the Lions making an offer for Fellaini over the summer transfer window.

The Istanbul giants reached an agreement-in-principle with Fellaini which would have seen the Belgium international sign four-year deal worth €4 million per-season.

Galatasaray were interested in signing the United ace earlier this summer however, manager Jose Mourinho put a stop to the move.

“It’s easier for Galatasaray to get me than to get Maroaune [Fellaini], Forget it. He’s too important to me.” Mourinho was quoted as saying by Goal.
