Man United transfer news: Club official to arrive in Manchester by Tuesday to complete transfer

Galatasaray have reached an agreement-in-principle with Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini after lengthy negotiations with his representatives.

A source close to the club revealed to Turkish-Football that Fellaini will strike a four-year deal worth €4 million per-season if talks with United go to plan.

Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek is expected to arrive in Manchester by Tuesday – although it could be as early as Monday.

Ozbek is expected to make the trip, although an associate or sporting director Cenk Ergun may take his place depending on developments over the next 48 hours.

Talks with United will be held over the midfielder’s transfer fee.

The Belgium international has under 12 months on his contract and has yet to be offered an extension.

The Red Devils face the possibility of losing Fellaini who they paid £27 million [BBC] for in 2014 on a free transfer in January.

Lions sporting director Cenk Ergun confirmed that talks over the Fellaini transfer are still ongoing yesterday.

“There will be surprises, we are in talks with Fellaini,” Ergun was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football after the Lions training session in Austria today.

“We have made an approach, we are close and if we get Fellaini we will end our pursuit of N’Diaye.

“We need a player like Fellaini who can shuttle around in midfield.”

Fellaini has travelled with the United squad for their pre-season match in Oslo, Norway.
