Man United transfer news: Zlatan’s agent holds talks with Euro giants club president

Raiola reported to have held talks with Euro giants over Man United striker’s future

Reports regarding the rather sensational transfer rumour that Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be on his way to Turkey have been gathering pace.

Turkish newspaper Yeni Asir went one step further than the report published in Fotospor, who claimed that Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola offered his client to Besiktas.

Yeni Asir report that Raiola has held talks with Besiktas president Fikret Orman regarding the possibility of an end of season deal.

Orman was recently in London where he apparently met Raiola.

Per the source, Orman will discuss the proposal with the board and manager before making a decision.

Despite the transfer rumours continuing to circulate there are a few factors which make the deal quite unlikely.

Besiktas are currently under the watch of UEFA Financial Fair Play and unless Ibrahimovic was to accept significantly lower wages to what he is currently paid the club would not be able to afford him.

The Black Eagles have been financially disciplined as far as transfer and contract fees are concerned since current club president Fikret Orman took charge.

The Istanbul giants could in theory sell some of their highly paid players to free up the wage bill but it is unlikely that the board will be keen on breaking up a title winning side.

Besiktas won the league title last season and are currently first in the league.

One thing is for certain. Ibrahimovic faces an uncertain future.

Sky Sports report that he is currently deliberating on whether to take up an option to extend his stay by another 12 months.
