Man United winger could end up scuppering hopes of Sunderland selling Jeremain Lens to Turkish league giants

Sunderland’s efforts to sell Jeremain Lens to Fenerbahce could end up being scuppered by Adnan Januzaj.

The Chronicle report that Fenerbahce could pull out of talks to sign Lens if they sign Januzaj on a cut-price deal.

Januzaj is currently on loan from United at Sunderland but has struggled to settle in.

Sunderland could be in for further disappointment from Januzaj if he joins the Yellow Canaries.

The Black Cats want £12.5 million to make Lens’ loan stay permanent.

The Istanbul giants want Lens on a permanent move but must stay within budget due to Financial Fair Play rules.

The Takvim newspaper report that Fenerbahce are set to sign Januzaj on a cut-price deal as he has just over 12 months remaining on his contract.

Januzaj’s agent is expected to travel to Istanbul where he will enter the final stages of negotiations with Fenerbahce.

Lens has been in great form for the Yellow Canaries and is currently the highest rated player in the Turkish league according to Whoscored.

The 29-year-old has a total of five goals and 14 assists in all competitions this season.

Fenerbahce could be using the Januzaj interest as a bargaining chip to lower his asking fee.

Sunderland could ultimately end up having their hand forced in accepted a lower transfer fee if they end up being relegated at the end of the season.
