Man Utd could be forced to sell high paid stars including ace linked with Turkey exit if he is to land £12m Portugal international

Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho has been told by the board that he must get rid of some high earning players in order to be able to sign Southampton defender Jose Fonte according to the Sun.

The report claims that the Portuguese manager must get rid of players like Marcos Rojo, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Phil Jones and Matteo Darmian if he is to sign the £12 million rated Portugal international who lifted the Euro 2016 trophy this summer.

The Daily Star does however, report that Schweinsteiger has another two-years remaining on a lucrative contract worth £17 million in total

United could be given a lifeline by Turkish giants Galatasaray who have shown an interest in bringing in the experienced midfielder on a temporary move a source close to the club told Turkish-football.com.

AMK report that the Istanbul giants are willing to pay up to half of Schweinsteiger’s salary.

Schweinsteiger won eight Bundesliga titles with Bayern and the Champions League in 2013 establishing himself as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation.
