Manchester United want £10 million for Fenerbahçe target Robin van Persie according TRT Sport presenter Ersin Düzen who made the comments on the Futbol Günlüğü program.
The reporter went onto claim that the Yellow Canaries however, are intent on negotiating a lower fee for the 31-year-old striker.
Fenerbahçe managed to negotiate Nani’s price from Nani down to £4.3 million and are hoping to strike a deal with United for below the asking price.
As reported by Turkish-football.com’s Emre Sarıgül and the Guardian’s Jamie Jackson on Saturday Fenerbahçe have reached an agreement-in-principle for the United star.
SkyBet recently suspended betting on the United star joining a new club before the end of the transfer market.
Chris Spicer from Sky Sport said: “We already held Fenerbahce as clear favourites to sign Van Persie but recent media reports seem to have sparked more intense interest, with the one-sided nature of the money forcing us to pull the market.
“Van Persie has been odds-on to leave Manchester United since the transfer window re-opened and it now looks like his destination has been settled.”
Van Persie is expected to leave United before the team set off to the US for their pre-season summer tour.
