Fenerbahce could re-ignite their interest in the Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger following reports that the Premier League giants are ready to offload the Germany international.

According to the Daily Record, United’s newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho is keen to revamp his squad over the summer and has transfer listed Schweinsteiger, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Juan Mata.

Schweinsteiger joined United from Bayern Munich last summer for €9 million. The Germany international only managed 13 starts in the Premier League before succumbing to injury again in April.

The Express stated that Fenerbahce were planning a summer move for Schweinsteiger back in March and may be tempted to table a bid now that the 31-year-old is available.

Fenerbahce will be playing Champions League football next season and are currently the bookmakers favourites to win the 2016-17 title as well.

Besiktas are also actively pursuing a central midfielder to add experience and strengthen their midfield as they prepare for Champions League football next season.

The Black Eagles are aware of Schweinsteiger’s availability however, a source close to the club told Turkish-football.com that no offer or enquiry has been made.
