Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is for sale according to the Guardian’s Jamie Jackson.
Speaking to Talksport Jackson stated: “Robin van Persie is for sale.”
Jackson also revealed that Van Persie’s reported agreement with Fenerbahçe could come down to whether the Süper Lig club can match his £250,000-a-week wages.
“With regard to the Fenerbahce story, let’s just wait and see. It could be a timing thing. There could be money issues in and around that [deal],” he added.
“Can they pay Van Persie what he’s getting at United? It’s nearly £250,000-a-week. Let’s just see on that one.”
Turkish-football.com editor Emre Sarıgül and Jackson broke news of a Fenerbahçe offer for the Dutch star on Saturday 4 July in an exclusive for the Guardian.
The 31-year-old striker has reached an agreement-in-principle with the Süper Lig giants and talks between United and the club are ongoing.
Fenerbahçe recently completed the transfer of fellow United player Nani on a three-year deal expected to be worth €3.975 million per-season. The Yellow Canaries confirmed that they will pay €6 million for the 28-year-old winger.
The Portuguese international has passed his medical and will be unveiled in an official signing ceremony in the afternoon.
