Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie underwent a medical with Fenerbahçe today at the Liv Hospital in Ulus Istanbul.
Van Persie was accompanied by Fenerbahçe general manager Hasan Çetinkaya and is expected to complete his transfer to the Yellow Canaries in a signing ceremony at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium shortly after.
The 31-year-old striker was greeted by thousands of fans at the Sabiha Gökçen airport on Sunday who turned out en-masse to welcome the star striker to Turkey.
Van Persie arrived on a private chartered jet provided by Fenerbahçe and was accompanied by his family.
The Netherlands international is expected to sign a three-year contract today and is likely to become the highest paid member of the team.
The Dutch star will have the chance to win the Yellow Canaries 20th league title next season. Van Persie is no stranger to winning clubs 20th championship as he pulled off the same feat with United in the 2012-13 season.
