Ilkay Gündoğan will meet with Barcelona next week according to the Daily Star.
The news comes amid reports from Mundo Deportivo that the Catalan club turned down the opportunity to meet with Gündoğan.
The Germany international has been closely linked with a move to Manchester United recently but is yet to agree personal terms with the Red Devils.
The Catalan giants are currently under a transfer deadline and have an upcoming presidential election.
Gündoğan’s contract with Borussia Dortmund expires at the end of next season and the 24-year-old has turned down the Bundesliga clubs contract offer.
The in-demand midfielder will make a decision regarding his future “as soon as possible,” according to a statement the Dortmund midfielder published on his official Facebook page.
Gündoğan finished the season with five assists and three goals in 33 appearances in all competitions. The 24-year-old also played a staring role in Germany’s 7-0 victory over Gibraltar on last week.
