Mario Gomez willing to remain at Besiktas

Besiktas received a major boost yesterday after Mario Gomez stated that he is happy to remain at the Istanbul giants for the next two seasons.

The Germany international played a major role in the Black Eagles title winning season and has been heavily linked with a move abroad.

“I may remain at Besiktas for a season or two. I am experiencing the most enjoyable spell of my career,” Gormez told LigTV.

“I will not be returning to the Bundesliga this summer.”

The Germany international managed to work his way back into the Germany national team after a brilliant season and has attracted the interest of Manchester United. The Red Devil’s have expressed an interest in the striker according to Telegraph and FoxSport last month.

Gomez scored 28 goals this season season, breaking last seasons record set by Demba Ba.

The experinced striker has been included in the Germany national team’s preliminarily squad which will compete at Euro 2016 in France this summer.
