Ilkay Gündoğan is willing to wait for Barcelona’s transfer ban to end in order to join the Catalan giants in 2016 according to Barca Blaugranes.

The report states that sources have told Barca Blaugranes that Gündoğan is keen on a move to Barcelona and that talks between the two parties have already taken place and have ‘advanced very quickly.’

Gündoğan has previously hinted at a move to Barcelona during a press conference.

“Barcelona are a great club, but there are many great clubs out there,” he told SID.

Barcelona along with Juventus, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool have all expressed an interest in the Germany international.

Dortmund’s Sporting Director Michael Zorc also stated that he would prefer to sell to a club abroad over their rivals Bayer Munich.

“Of course, we would prefer it if he did not join a Bundesliga rival, even if Bayern have not really been our rivals in a sporting sense this campaign,” Zorc told Sky90.

The 24-year-old has four assists and three goals in 30 appearances for Dortmund this season.

Gündoğan played a staring role in his sides 2-0 victory over Hertha Berlin on the weekend. The Dortmund star received a rating of 7.13 from Whoscored playing on the right side of a defensive midfield duo alongside Kehl.
